SSRT visited Steve Seltzer Powersports yesterday to discuss details of the April 30,2016 Spaghetti Dinner & CMATVA Dice Run. Steve will have various atvs, utvs on hand at the event for display. We found out that Tamara is soon to leave Steve Seltzer Powersports and start her own business. We wish her well. She is helping Tim get use to replacing her and the responsibilities that come along with it. We wish Tim well too in his new position. Susan is also going to help out with processing SSRT memberships & we appreciate her efforts.

A lot of atvs, utvs on hand to look at as well as accessories. Anyone looking for a nice yard wagon to pull behind that atv, Steve has them.

HB544 - HB2022 Bills Passed

From our SSRT Secretary Larry Mayes: HB544 - HB2022 These two bills are to exempt the private property owner from liability. They have been worked on and amended by the Pa. House for the past couple years. Well, good news, Representative Mike Hanna has notified me this afternoon (4-4-16)that the bill has passed the House and moved on to the Senate. The goal of both of these bills are the same, to encourage landowners to make land and water areas available to the public for recreational use. Thank you Mike Hanna and the other Representatives for working so hard to get this bill passed.

While Larry Mayes was grading the trail between Gillentown Trailhead and Gorton Crossing, this large tree fell between Gillentown Trailhead and Number 10 Bridge. One of our members, Cameron Fye removed it with his Kubota. We want to thank him for his help to remove this safety issue. Now this is a good member that is not afraid to work. Thank you Cameron.

Trail Brushing

Wayne Hall of D&W Clearing toured the areas that the SSRT is going to have him trim this year at the beginning of April. We are looking at brushing between mile marker 65 & 63. While touring the area, we also got a picture of the Indian Chief Rock along the trail.

Members, please be cautious in the beginning of April while D & W Clearing will be working On the Winburne side of the trail near Black Bear & Six Mile Run Bridges.

Mock ATV Accident

The Milesburg and Snow Shoe Fire Companies will be holding a mock accident on the Snow Shoe Rails to Trails on Sunday, April 24, 2016. They will be placing notification signs out at Clarence, Gorton and Entrance to Gillentown Trailhead.

There will be a Control Center at Gillentown Trailhead, starting around 8:30am. They will be traveling to Peale Tunnel and in the opposite direction to the Bloody Skillet Connector. Carole & Chareles Jensen will be leading their tour to familiarize the members of both fire companies with the area. The mock accident will occur after that. They are also planning on eating lunch at Newman's Sandwich Shop somewhere near noon.

The Centre County Sheriff's Office will also be on patrol this day to assist with mock accident if necessary.

Members, please use caution when riding on the trail & Snow Shoe Township Roads this day.
