Rush Township Signs

Yesterday, November 16, 2020, Snow Shoe Rails to Trails volunteers added a few signs to roads legalized for atvs/utvs in Rush Township. Sleepy Hollow Road got a few additional signs alerting traffic of equestrians traveling in the area. Carr Street got an end sign because of private property at the end of that  street.  

Then, Glass City road was posted along with Mallard & Kepp Street. At the end of Kepp Rd, several signs were posted to alert atvist/utvist to turn down radios and go slow in this area. We are so fortunate to have this area to ride and make connections. But, we also have so much to lose if we aren't respectable. We appreciate Representative Conklin's support for the trail and connections.  So, hope users pay attention to the signs. Then, near the SSRT/Elks Trailhead, Peterson Drive was posted. 

Bridge Completed on Casanova Road

 The bridge that crosses Six Mile Run in Rush Township is done. Casanova Road is now open for ATV/UTV use to Black Moshannon State Park again.

Clarence Gate/Bollards Widened

 Brooks Welding widened Clarence Gate/Bollards from 65" to 70" today, November 9,2020. They also installed safety railing on the outside of the bollards. SSRT Volunteers painted the gate/bollards. These are the last gate bollards we will be widening this year.

So, all gate/bollards are now 70" from Clarence Gate to the Northern most Gate at Gorton Crossing. We still need to install a new gate and bollards at the southern Gorton Gate and also widen both gate/bollards at Peale Crossing. The plan is to work on them next spring.

We have two people that will donate $500.00 each towards the start of the project next year and one undecided how much to donate. So, anyone else wanting to donate to the widening of the gate bollards for next year, please let us know. We will place a sign with your business name or personal name at the gate where money was donated for.

We could not have done as much as we did without the help of Truck Stuff And More of Bellefonte and also Jersey Shore State Bank. So, please support both of these businesses when you can.

Bollards at Tarman Crossing Widened

Brooks Welding widened the gate bollards at Tarman Crossing yesterday, November 6, 2020 from 65" to 70". Volunteers helped with painting the bollards at Gillentown Trailhead and Tarman Crossing. Tarman Crossing widening of the gate/bollards is being funded by Dick Grafmyre and Jersey Shore State Bank. We want to thank them for their help. Signs will be made and installed at both gates advertising for the sponsors at that particular gate/bollard widening.

Members, remember to support those that support us and our recreation. 

Anyone wanting to fund one of the gate bollards or a donation towards the widening, please let us know. We will place names at the particular gate bollards who funded the widening.

Bollards at Gillentown Trailhead Widened To 70"

Brooks Welding widened both sets of bollards at Gillentown Trailhead today, November 5,2020, from 65" to 70". Alot of work performed to get them widen and looking good. Andy Basalla & Larry Mayes assisted and reviewed the plan for the other gate/bollard widening. We want to thank Barry Kellerman(Truck Stuff And More) for funding this project at Gillentown Trailhead. We are getting signs made now to install by each bollard recognizing Truck Stuff And More of Bellefonte.
