Surprise Retirement for Retiring Treasurer, George Holt

The SSRTA held a surprise retirement reception at the Moshannon Community Center last evening for Retiring Treasurer, George Holt. Everyone was waiting to yell surprise as he and Sally walked through the door. George said he started recognizing some of his childrens vehicles in the parking lot as he pulled in and thought there may be something up. But he still was surprised. There were many many pictures distributed around on all the tables of George performing work on the trail over the past 15 years. Trilby Mayes recognized George for all his accomplishments through the years and thanked him for being the SSRTA Treasurer since 2010. George had approximately 16 members of his family attend the surprise. Thanks to everyone for their covered dishes so we had plenty to eat and lot's to talk about. Mary Jane Peters also presented the new quilt for the 2019 SSRTA Quilt Raffle. It's beautiful!!

16th Annual Best Line Powersports/Snow Shoe Rails to Trails Winter Dinner Ride and CMATVA Poker Run

The morning was a little rainy at first with about 20 vehicles in parking lot shortly after 8am. However, by 10:30 the lot was full and many people out enjoying a nice ride or participating in the Poker Run. So happy to see some new members - Mary and Les Confer and friends with their new side by side recently purchased from Dave Walker at Best Line. Liz Scalzo won the 50/50 and Jody Duda won the knife set. So many people to thank for such a great event. Ruth Martin, Patty Katchik, Trilby Mayes, Gary Halsnik, Andy Basalla, Mark Watson for the great meal -- so many compliments of how great a meal. Thank you George & Sally Holt & Donna Verost and Beth Watson for taking care of the clothing, application etc. Jim Verost did himself proud again, chili was fantastic!! Much appreciation to the Centre County Probation Office for providing help to prep before during and after the event. Trash was also collected along several miles of state and township roads. It was also nice to see Best Line CEO Mike Getz attend and talk with many of the attendees. Henry Sorgen advised that 94 people participated in the Poker Run. Thank you CMATVA! Thank all of you members for supporting the event! Remember, without you, there would be no trail.
