Carns Equipment/SSRTA held it's 10th Annual Pig/Chicken Roast on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at the Gillentown Trailhead. So many volunteers to thank to pull off such a large event. Painting stripes on the parking lot, picking up the pigs from Marks Meats, and the chicken from Adlers Meat Market to picking up the extras from Mt View Market.
Snow Shoe was a booming place as the Three Points Sportsman's Club held their annual pig roast and raffle. Snow Shoe Fall Festival was also held along with the Antique Car Show. There was also a 75th Annual Celebration at the Moshannon Community Center. We want to thank everyone for coming and supporting the community events.
Doug Katchik was the DJ providing music throughout the event. Miller's Ice was on hand to sell flavored ice and carmel popcorn. Both were awesome.
Thank you to the Centre County Probation Office for helping to supply some extra help too.
Carns Equipment had a good selection of utvs, atvs on hand with a variety of small hand tools like Blowers etc.
Chris Vangor, family and friends did another fantastic job cooking the pigs, chicken and stuffing. Alot of great comments about it being the best stuffing ever and it was really good. Thank you to all the volunteers, too many to name but we all appreciate all your help and a special thank you to Carns Equipment for supporting the event. After the trailhead was parked full, overflow was sent down the trail on the wide pull off below the pavilion. Thank you all for coming and supporting the event. Remember, October 8, 2022 is the SSRTA Raffle at Gillentown Trailhead. Meal starting to serve around noon till raffle at 2pm. There will be a chinese auction, 50/50 and of course utv, quilt and fire pit tickets will be sold up until 2pm that day.
