ATV Youth Certification Training at the Philipsburg Elks

Snow Shoe Rails to Trails held ATV Youth Certification Training at the Philipsburg Elks Training Area on Saturday, September 10,2022. Donna Verost was the lead trainer with help from alot of volunteers. The kids were first put through a classroom type setting, which rules and safety items were discussed. Then, the hands on part of the training which the kids loved, leaning into curves, riding over obstacles, or climbing the side hill. Trilby Mayes, President of SSRTA, presented all the kids a temporary registration with an ssrta T-shirt. The SSRT sponsored a meal prepared by the Elks Lodge for the kids and their parents after the training was finished.

 On Wednesday September 7, 2022, the SSRT was out making some new sign installations and trimming some weeds to make things look their best. Ken Rowles, Patrick Warefield and Larry Mayes were busy installing new signs on Mallard Street in Glass City, trimming weeds at Elks Trailhead and installing new corporate signs at Black Bear and Gillentown Trailheads. One busy day!

 Snow Shoe Rails to Trails held ATV Youth Certification Training at Best Line Powersports in Centre Hall on Saturday, August 6, 2022. The trainers put in some extra time in the Classroom that helped shorten the time in the field. The students did an excellent job paying attention to the instructions which lessen corrections in the hands on. Trilby Mayes, President of SSRT provided a t-shirt and temporary registration to each of the participants. A meal was provided by SSRT and Best Line after the training was concluded. A great job done cooking dogs by Fred Yearick. Thank you to all the trainers who did a great job!!
