Trail Grading

Snow Shoe Rails to Trails volunteers, Andy Basalla, Cameron Fye and Larry Mayes have started to grade the trail. First we started from rt 144 gate and worked towards the large powerline. Then we graded to Number 10 gate and today Andy is working from Tarman Crossing towards Gorton. We are trying to bring the crown back on the trail so the water runs off. Bear with us until we bring the sides in towards the center of the trail. Yes, the ditches do need cleaned out too. We will be addressing this as we have time and nice weather. Thanks for everyone cooperation.

Tree Removal

A large pine tree fell across the Peale Road below the Peale Crossing blocking access to Peale Crossing/SSRT. Gary Halsnik, Ron Gillette, Andy Basalla and crew responded, cut and removed the tree from the township road. They had to utilize the utvs to wench some of the heavier pieces. They also raked the limbs etc from the township road leaving a clear passage.

Then, there was a large tree hanging along the bank on Peale Tunnel side of Peale Crossing. They also cut it off of the high bank and pulled it out the trail and cut up and removed from the trail

We want to thank all the volunteers for removing both of these trees. Thank you all!!
