Gillentown trailhead photos

Gillentown Trailhead Restrooms take on a different look at night with the solar lights donated by Lisa and Mark Skripek. Someone did a nice job decorating the flower bank below pavilion. Mary Halsnik planting more flowers-not stop and we all love them as they look so pretty surrounding the parking area. The sky was a bright red last evening and it sure showed on the entrance to the Gillentown Trailhead. Thank you Mary Halsnik for getting that picture.

Snow Shoe Rails to Trails/Carns Equipment/DCNR Youth Certification Training

The training was held at Carns Equipment in Clearfield on Saturday, June 20,2020. Bob Biggans, Mark Watson, Duane Cossar provided the training along with two DCNR Rangers from the Black Moshannon State Forest. Justin Carns provided pre-inspection of atv prior to riding. Alex provided the sample maneuvers. There were 12 children receive the training and temporary driver's license. The Rangers reminded the kids where and where not to ride along with remember to have fun. Mark Watson reminded everyone to take out what you take in-keep the environment clean for others to see and use.
It was busy day with Trilby Mayes(granddaughter Piper) handing out SSRTA t-shirts to everyone along with their temporary license.
We even got a chance to see Geoff Carns out of his office to give us a peak at what he looks like. We were all smiles and teasing him at the same time. Geoff got a few jabs in too. We want to thank Carns for having Royers Concessions in the parking lot to provide meals for everyone. Great time had by all!!!
