Due to the COVID-19 Key Largo Restaurant will still be closed on May 5. So, the Snow Shoe Rails to Trails monthly meeting for May 5, 2020 is cancelled. Hope to see you all in June.

Tree Removal on Trail

We want to thank Pat Casher for bringing to our attention that a tree was blocking the trail on Tarman side of Gillentown Trailhead. We also want to thank Connie & Patrick Warefield for cutting up and removing it yesterday. Thank you all!! Great job!!!! Connie said the dog helped a little too.

Trail Grading Near Clarence

Cameron Fye graded the trail from large power lines crossing the trail to Clarence. He filled in holes, opened ditches and removed any fallen trees and tree limbs. The trail is now good and safe in this area. Thank you Cameron.

Best Line Powersports Re-Opening

Beginning Monday, April 20th, Best Line Powersports will re-open its doors under reduced hours for parts and service support. Although our sales department will remained closed until further notice, we will be available to help meet your parts and service needs. For more information, please contact one of our locations.

SSRTA Addresses Safety Issues

The SSRTA had several phone calls about trees being across the trail and also rock slides in various areas. So Angel and Mike Tressler removed those safety issues by grading the trail from Tarman Crossing to the Viaduct Bridge. All safety issues have been removed on that end of trail. We want to thank them for their efforts to keep the trail well maintained and safe.

SSRTA Skid Steer Repairs

The SSRTA Bob Cat Skid Steer was in for some maintenance repairs at Best Line. They replaced the tracks, rotated sprockets,  replaced a set of bushings near rear of bucket, replaced AC compressor, changed all oils and filters. 

Your membership money goes towards repairs like this to keep our trail well maintained. 

We want to thank Mike Getz, Tim Ripka, Jamie Butterworth, Brent Burns, Melvin Tressler for their coordination to Pick up and deliver the machine, order and replace all parts needed. Thank you Best Line for your excellent service! 

Peale/Gorton SSRTA Cleanup

On Monday, April 6th, Mike and Angel Tressler, along with their two boys Benner and Brooks, spent the day cleaning up the Peale and Gorton areas of the SSRTA. They collected trash on Gorton Road from the Peale bridge to Gorton Crossing. They also picked up garbage along the SSRTA rail bed from Gorton Crossing to the Viaduct bridge and cleaned up cans inside the Peale Tunnel. The family cut and removed a tree across the trail near Gorton Crossing too. The Tresslers picked up 7 bags of garbage.
