ATV Signs Installed on Legal Roads in Rush TWP

The Snow Shoe Rails to Trails was busy Wednesday, September 19, 2018. We installed DCNR signs on Casanova Road, Casanova Spur, Chestnut Street, Coaldale Road.

We want to thank Joe Reams, Andy Basalla and Larry Mayes for their efforts to get all the signs posted that Rush Township Supervisors authorized. We want to thank the Rush Township Supervisors for allowing us to have a positive impact on their businesses.

This will now allow atvers to ride their atvs/utvs to the Casanova Nostalgia for a meal. This get's us a lot closer to Philipsburg on the Coaldale Road and on the other end closer to Jackson's and the Avondale, both good places to eat.

Please obey all signs along the roads and remember, if the sign has an END above the atv  sign, this means the road in not for atv usuage.

CAUTION: LOGGING ALONG TRAIL

MCD Logs is now cutting trees along the trail for Headwaters Trust. They will be logging out from Tarman Crossing to the Black Moshannon Bridge. Please use caution when riding in this area. They will be working from Mile Marker 50 to Mile Marker 53. There will be trucks on the trail hauling the wood out and wood skidders crossing the trail too. Please use caution in this area.

We have notified the company spokesperson that all tree limbs should be removed from trail daily and all trees should be cut off at ground level within our right of way.
The SSRTA will be working with the logging crew to put the trail back to it's original condition once the logging is completed.

They will Not be working on the trail from Septemeber 26 through 30 in conjunction with our Pig Roast.

Any safety issues can be reported to the SSRT or email: ssrta1@gmail.com
