Sign Posts

The SSRTA would like to thank Mary & Gary Halsnik and Eric Brooks for their help to purchase, and deliver sign post for the upcoming year. We are so fortunate to have such great volunteers help the trail.

SSRTA Trash Collection

The Snow Shoe Rails to Trails would like to thank the following people for starting the trash collection along our local highways in Snow Shoe.  The SSRTA collect trash along the 19 miles of SSRTA and along State Route 144 and approximately 27 miles of Snow Shoe  township roads legalized for atv use. This is done during our scheduled work details. However, some of our members and non members started early this year and we want to recognize them for their efforts.

Carol & Marlin Luse, Doug Saylor, Kaden and Devon Bittinger and Mary Ann Bules. They cleaned Tennessed Turnpike, Pancake Rd, Fountain Rd and  Rusnak Hill to the top of Kato Hill.
Thank you all to help keep our community clean!!

More Snow Shoe Twp Roads Legalized For ATVs/UTVs

On Friday, March 13th, volunteers of Snow Shoe Rails to Trails posted Askey Road, Walnut Road, Fountain Road, and a partial of Pancake road as mixed traffic. These roads are now legalized for atv usage. Please obey all signs and speed limits. We want to thank Gary Halsnik, Andy Basalla, Bob Harris, Ken Rowles, Patrick Warefield and Larry Mayes for putting in the day to get these roads done. Hopefully this will help our members along these roads make the connections and reach the trail alot more safely. They will be able to reach our businesses through these connections for a positive economic impact. Thank you members for requesting these roads be legalized for atvs. Our supervisors heard you.

SSRTA Group Ride and Stay at We Are Inn

A group of SSRT members did a quick throw together ride Saturday, Feb. 29. The trip started shortly after 8am eating breakfast at Rees Restaurant -what a great breakfast and service. Then off to Gillentown Trailhead to meet some other members & head out towards Kato and then to a warmed up friends camp. After the couple hour ride, time for hot dogs and the rest of the spread as everyone brought something.
Then a group of our UTVs rode from Black Bear to Philipsburg and we got booked in at the WE ARE INN motel. Pat Romano treated all of us so well. What a beautiful place for atvers to stay. Beautiful lake right across from the motel-saw an Eagle fly over-Awesome! Got some gas at Unimart. We all ate dinner at the Philipsburg Elks Saturday night and returned Sunday morning for the breakfast buffet and then a nice ride back to Snow Shoe. A great weekend of riding and having fun while supporting the local economy.
