SSRTA Youth Training at Elks Lodge

Snow Shoe Rails to Trails provided DCNR ATV Youth Certification Training on Saturday, September 12, 2020. This is the first time we held training at the Philipsburg Elks Lodge. Training  ages were 8 thru 15.   The area was large enough to set up and  train two groups at once. Certified trainers were Donna Verost, Mark Watson, George Holt and Bob Biggans.

The training area also provided a real live circumstantial exercise on hills with a rough terrain-just perfect. After the training was over, Trilby Mayes, president of SSRT provided SSRTA T-shirts to all the attendees along with their temporary license. Now they can ride the SSRTA and any of the state trails as long as they are with someone 18 years of age or older.

The Snow Snow Shoe Rails to Trails provided a lunch from the Elks Lodge to trainees and their parents after everyone received their temporary license. The Snow Shoe Rails to Trails wants to thank the Philipsburg Elks Lodge for partnering with the trail to provide us a place to train and to get the trainees off to a good start.
